I will never forget my first time. It was winter of 2010 or 2011. This was my first time DJ'ing for a live crowd. It was for a house party in a small apartment overflowing with well over a hundred "friends" looking for a weekend of positive and energetic vibes. I was the opening set for the night. Was I nervous? Absolutely. But I will never forget the pulsating chill; a tingling acquired by the thunderous feet as the ravers danced and caused my friend's place to shake to a point I thought the floor or ceiling might collapse. Good vibes from a crowd make for a good DJ performance. I fed off of the acceptance of those dancing around me. When my time and set were up I was asked to continue for another hour by the other DJs that were to spin that night. They were not done dancing yet. A few hours later and the local authorities came to tell us how good our party sounded, and that the residence that lived three blocks down were also enjoying the music. I will never forget my first time.
