Small man, Huge heart...
Unfortunately, Bruno Mars isn't a rather tall man in the sense of height (which is why only half my head is in the picture) but the moment he opens his mouth he becomes the biggest man in any room by far! I traveled from Philadelphia to the great city of New York, New York to the Bowery Ballroom to see Bruno Mars perform at his very first headline concert. I arrived at the venue midday just to see where it was located when I got lucky enough to see Bruno stepping out onto the sidewalks. It struck me as odd that people were just walking by him, not noticing the incredible talent that was standing before them. Of course the moment I walked up to him I went from being 6' 5" tough guy in to a little school girl and couldn't find any words to say to him. When I finally mustered up the courage to shake his hand and ask for a picture he was nothing but courteous of course and thanked us time and time again for traveling to show support. That night I stood 15 feet away from Bruno Mars in a room with no more than a 130 people, and for over half the songs Bruno didn't even use the microphone, just sang aloud to the crowd. I still get goose bumps every time I hear the song grenade knowing that I was one of the first people ever to hear it. Seeing how far Bruno has come since then is truly amazing. It shows that if you truly stick to your gut and do what you love then nothing else matters. It's never a easy or clear path, but one that must be taken if you wish to achieve true happiness.
