Sooo get this. It's April 2007. I'm sitting in the office, bummed out I was unable to get tickets to the sold out Black Label Society concert. I get word that Zakk Wylde is literally next door signing autographs. No way. I immediately pleaded my case to the ol boss and got permission to head next door. So far so good. I get there, gigantic line. Perfect. By the time I get to the front, they wanted to shut things down. I wasn't going to give up that easily. I decided to stick around in the hopes I could catch him on the way out. Best decision I've ever made. He caught glimpse of us stragglers and called us over one by one...kinda like ohhh what the hell. He put a brew in my hand, gave me a big ol kiss on the cheek, signed my Shot to Hell album, and put ticketless me on the VIP list for the sold out concert that night. Wicked. I usually have the worst luck so I couldn't believe the series of events that day! The concert was epic, had the time of my life. This photo captures the very talented Zakk in his element. Not only is he one of the greatest rock stars of all time, he treats his fans like gold. I'll never forget that day & will always be one of his biggest fans because of it!
