This epic picture is a scan of my concert stub for the last day of what ended up being the last tour of the Grateful Dead. I was working a summer job in Chicago but was laid off days before the concert. I decided to go to the concert anyway. It was a blast. Not knowing how I was going to get home, I hitched a ride from the concert--at Soldier Field in Chicago--back home to Albuquerque. Shortly after arriving home, I heard Jerry Garcia had passed. I am truly fortunate to have been one of the last people to see him play publically.
