Above The Crowd
A friend of mine snapped this epic photo of me at the main stage during Porter Robinson's set at Ultra 2013. We traveled as a pack to as close to the front as we could get and it became impossible for us to move any further up. Once we were stuck in our spot, I realized at 5'1, I couldn't see over anyone and could not see the stage. I started to make the most of it anyway because listening to Porter's amazing talent and being surrounded by my friends was more than enough for me. We were having so much fun and got to bonding with fellow fans in the crowd around us. I remember mentioning to one of these new friends, "He's my favorite" and his response was "Follow me". That was when this kind soul led me to just a few spots away, where a trash can had been thrown into the crowd and flipped over. One of his friends was dancing on it, wearing a Mexican flag around his neck as a cape. After exchanging words with his friend, the guy immediately climbed down and offered his hand to help ME climb up. Before I knew it, I was standing high above the crowd and had a perfect view of Porter Robinson! I felt so happy and absolutely carefree up there. I could see everything- the lights, the lasers, my most favorite dj, the special effects. But when I looked down, I could see the best view behind me. My friends, whose smiles matched mine and were so happy to see me having the time of my life. In that epic moment, this photo was taken and captured the true joy I was feeling above the crowd.
