Lolla Steam Up
It was the last night a Lolla 2011, and the first two days had gone off without a hitch. The forecast for Sunday didnt look great, but who knew what we were in store for. Passing showers all day were not enough to scare us away so we powered through the day to see Foo Fighters close it out. As darker and darker clouds rolled over the city, and eventually past the setting sun, people began to head out as they feared the reports of a tornado might actually be true. We eventually settled near the stage and just as the band came out the skies opened up. Dave Grohl and co came out to My Hero and rocked out in the most torrential downpour I had ever been a part up. Mud began to pile up as the crowd continued to rock out. Almost as quickly as the skies opened they closed as My Hero ended. The combo of cold rain, and hot August weather cause the crowd to steam, literally "steam up". It remains the most epic concert moment of my life. This pic is just before the storm rolled in. Id love the opportunity to relive the experience with these dude, so lets hope it happens!!
